Mas de Bunyol is a vulture observatory built above a farmhouse inside a feeding ground for vultures. The guided tour takes place daily, 365 days a year. Through the observatory’s glass windows you can see a short distance away the descent of hundreds of vultures waiting for the entry of Vultureman who brings them their daily delicacy. A must see for nature lovers and an unforgettable experience for those of us who enjoy seeing animals in freedom.
The bird observatory is located 10 minutes away from Hotel Mas de la Costa ****
Natural Reserve of the Puertos de Beceite
The Puertos de Beceite mountain range straddles the provinces of Tarragona, Teruel and Castellon. Renowned for its landscapes it is one of two known habitats of the native mountain goat (capra pyrenaica hispanica), a shy mountain goat with impressive horns. The range is covered with different types of pine, oak and beech forests.
In spring, the forest is filled with miniature wild orchids. It also hosts a large population of vultures. Monte Caro, the highest peak in the park, rises to 1447m. It is located 35 minutes from Hotel Mas de la Costa****.
